Week two of the Leominster Chess Club Championship 2024 saw some players heading off on holidays while others returned, it was a busy evening of chess!
Results
Round 3 results
Stephen Priestley continued his winning run with a victory over Craig Byron. Dan Palmer landed his first win of the tournament while Dawid and John Preece drew their game. We welcomed a new player to the club and the tournament, Keith, who scored a win out of Roy with the white pieces.
Round 4 results
Round 4 saw another win for Stephen Priestley, this time with black, who now takes a commanding position at the top of the leader board. John Preece won with white against Keith Douglas and Craig bounced back for a loss in round 3 to win with white against John Nurse.

Juniors
Our juniors section continued with more great attendance, there were some hard fought battles and lots of fun this week!
Round 3 results (juniors)
Round three began with Alex scoring a win with white against his sister. Rufus won a tough game against Leon for another win with the white pieces. Lewis missed rounds 1 and 2 but got to work collecting points with a win over Jack with black.
Round 4 results (juniors)
In round 4 Alex, Max, Lewis, Eve and Kayden were all victorious, scoring their second wins of the evening. Our juniors favoured decisive games as we saw no draws in rounds 3 and 4.
