Leominster Chess Club are delighted to announce details of our first club tournament, the Championship 2024, which will conclude with the crowning of the Leominster Chess Club Champion 2024!
The tournament will take place during November and December 2024, where payers will play two games every Tuesday evening (one as black and one as white) under time control. The winner will receive 1 point, the loser 0 and 1/2 a point each for a draw. At the end of November the players (number to be confirmed based on participants) with the highest points score will take part in a knockout games to decide the champion.
To take part in the Leominster Chess Club Championship 2024 all players have to do is come along to the club on Tuesday evenings in November and December. All players are welcome to take part, even if you are new to the club. You don’t have to attend every week to take part, but the more points you collect the better your chances of making the knockout stage!
We’ll be starting with a bang on Tuesday 5th of November! 🎇
Further tournament details:
- Players will be paired in advance where possible.
- Date of the knockout stages will be confirmed in due course.
- Time control for points games will be 30 minutes with no increment, allowing for two games per club night.
- Leominsterchess.com will be updated weekly with results and standings.
- Games will be rated and submitted to the ECF under Leominster Chess Club, as part of Herefordshire Chess Association.
