The Leominster Chess Championship 2025 nears it’s pinnacle with the quarter finals and semi finals being played over the last two weeks. Results were as follows:
Quarter finals
The quarter finals kicked off with a couple of passes into the next round for Stephen Priestly and John Preece, whose opponents were unable to attend on the evening. In the games that were played we saw Dan Timm get the better of John Hargreaves with the white pieces and Dylan Connor losing a very tight game against Steve Olrog which went right down to the wire.
In the junior section we saw wins for defending champion Lewis Mears, Swiss stage leader Alexander Adarski, Arthur Vant and Leon Warner.
Semi finals
In the penultimate round of the Championships we begin with a win for Stephen Priestley against Dan Timm, putting Stephen in his second back-to-back final. His opponent will be Steve Olrog who beat John Preece with the white pieces to reach the final for the first time.
In the junior draw Lewis Mears will be defending his title against Alexander Adarski after victories for both against Leon Warner and Arthur Vant.
Here are the full results and pairings for the final which will be held on Tuesday.
